Welcome to the Portland Posture Clinic, a unique and innovative approach to postural therapy that focuses on providing lasting results through posture alignment and personalized corrective exercises. Our clinic is dedicated to helping individuals alleviate chronic pain and enjoy an active life by using the Egoscue Method, a posture alignment therapy that uses low-impact, corrective exercises to restore the body to its intended, functional alignment.
Our story began when our founder, Sean O'Neill, endured life with chronic back and neck pain for 15 years. Despite trying numerous treatments, including doctors, acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage, Sean found no lasting relief. After discovering the Egoscue Method, Sean followed a daily regimen of therapeutic, corrective exercises for two months and found that his pain was eliminated. Inspired by his experience, Sean became a certified Egoscue therapist, dedicated to helping others achieve long-lasting pain relief and posture correction.
At the Portland Posture Clinic, we understand that chronic pain and recurring injuries can be frustrating and disheartening. Our goal is to provide a unique approach to postural therapy that addresses the underlying cause of pain, rather than just treating the symptoms. By analyzing your static posture and providing a personalized menu of therapeutic exercises, we can help you restore your body to its intended, functional alignment and alleviate chronic pain.
The Egoscue Method
The Egoscue Method is a posture alignment therapy that uses low-impact, corrective exercises to restore the body to its intended, functional alignment, alleviating chronic pain and recurring injury. This unique approach to postural therapy focuses on understanding the body's physical pain and how to alleviate it, and believes that when given the chance, the body will heal itself.
Using the ePete 3.0 Software, we analyze your posture and generate a personalized menu for your posture, chronic pain, and/or goals. You will then have access to your menu in the ePete mobile app and your email. Our process is easy and includes:
1. Posture Pictures: We upload your pictures into the ePete software.
2. Posture Analysis: We map out your current posture using stickies.
3. Pain Documentation: We take note of your current pains.
4. Prioritize Objectives: Our analysis provides a weighted list of objectives to determine the priorities of your menu.
5. Menu Generation: We create a personalized menu of corrective exercises for your current posture.
Testimonials
At the Portland Posture Clinic, we have helped numerous individuals achieve long-lasting pain relief and improve their posture. Here are just a few testimonials from our satisfied clients:
- "I hired Sean to help me improve my posture. I have scoliosis and it is causing me to bend forward and left. Sean has been working with me to activate muscles that have atrophied due to not being used. By activating those muscles through special stretching and strength building techniques, I have been able to experience significant gain in correcting my posture. We have been documenting the progress with photos and it is quite impressive. I look forward to continued improvement as we progress through additional exercises to build on what we have already accomplished. I recommend Sean as a very knowledgeable and competent trainer." - Bernie M.
- "Sean O'Neill made my life exponentially better after I injured my back thanks to the strength and stretching routine that he developed for me." - JESSIE I.
- "Great knowledge, very personable. Now I look forward to my workouts!" - Mike W.
- "Sean's approach focuses on posture and proper form in a way that is challenging but not at all intimidating. I really appreciate how much better I feel in every-day activities b/c of the lessons I've learned on how to hold myself and how to move. His workouts are mindful, goal-oriented, and truly complementary to all of the other sports-related activities that I enjoy. And besides, he's a really great guy!" - Mary S.
