The path to wellness starts here. whole body health
Chiropractic serves over 200 million families every day, and now it's your turn to experience its benefits. Elgin Chiropractic has been providing friendly, compassion-driven care for the greater Elgin area since 1979. Dr. Julie and Dr. Wilson, a husband and wife team who met in chiropractic college, took over the clinic in 2007 and have continued the tradition of patient-focused care. Our office is committed to helping the community live a better life through drug-free pain relief.
Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Julie and Dr. Wilson have extensive training in several different methods of care for patients of all ages, from the elderly to children. Our primary method of care is a traditional hands-on approach using Thompson drop and Diversified technique. Both doctors are Activator Method certified, which is a low force technique for adjusting the spine and other joints of the body. This technique does not involve any popping and is the only instrument adjusting technique with clinical trials to support its efficiency. Patients in our office may choose to be adjusted manually or non-manually.
Dr. Julie, a mother of two, has a passion for treating pregnant women and is certified in the Webster technique. The Webster technique is specifically for pregnant women to help balance the pelvic muscles and ligaments to reduce torsion to the uterus, providing a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. We are dedicated to helping all ages of patients discover optimum living. We offer Saturday appointments to accommodate your schedule.
Our Techniques
At Elgin Chiropractic, we use the following techniques to provide drug-free pain relief:
- Thompson drop technique: This technique involves a drop table that gently drops a section of the table while the adjustment is being made. This allows for a low-force adjustment that is gentle and comfortable.
- Diversified technique: This is a manual adjustment that involves a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust. This technique is used to restore proper motion to the joints of the body.
- Activator Method: This is a low force technique that involves the use of a handheld instrument to deliver a precise adjustment to the spine and other joints of the body.
- Webster technique: This technique is specifically for pregnant women and involves a gentle adjustment to the pelvis to reduce torsion to the uterus.
