At our chiropractic care center, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care to the East Bay and surrounding communities. Our practice is led by Dr. Bruce Rizzo, a certified Postural Alignment Specialist and a doctor of chiropractic with a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Anselm College and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West. He is also certified in various specialties, including Graston Technique, Active Release Techniques, Anatomy in Motion, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Functional Movement Systems.

Our Focus

Our practice is a multidisciplinary health center that focuses on trauma-related problems, repetitive stress injuries, sports-related injuries, and preventative health techniques. We specialize in various chiropractic techniques of the spine and extremities as well as soft-tissue therapies. The techniques most commonly used in our practice include Diversified, ART, Graston Technique, AiM, SFMA, FMS, Leander Table, Drop Table, Progressive Rehabilitation, Activator Methods, and Sacro-Occipital Technique.

Active Release Techniques (ART)

Active Release Techniques (ART) treatment is a hands-on, soft-tissue management system that allows us to diagnose and treat soft-tissue injuries. This highly successful approach to injuries of muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves, and joints is directed at removing adhesions and is the most effective way to treat soft-tissue injuries.

ART treatment protocols are very specific soft-tissue adjustments performed to reintroduce normal movement and function to the soft tissue structures of the body as well as the spine and extremities. Muscles, tendons, nerves, blood vessels, and fascia may be compromised in many ways, leading to restrictions and loss of normal function. These restrictions, in turn, lead to adhesions and the body's natural response, which is the formation of scar tissue.

ART treatment is directed at removing adhesions and can help many physical discomforts and syndromes, including cumulative trauma disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome and other work-related injuries, sports injuries of the shoulder, arm, wrist, elbow, hip, leg, knee, ankle, and foot, rotator cuff syndrome, frozen shoulder, post-surgical release of adhesions between muscles, nerves, and connective tissue, hyper-extension/flexion (whiplash) injury, acute injuries, chronic injuries, sciatica pain, stress, headaches, neuropathy.

Chiropractic care is treatment of the spine and extremities using hands as the primary tool. The chiropractic treatment we provide focuses on restoring proper movement and functions to the spine and extremities. There are a variety of techniques utilized, including manual adjustments, drop-table adjustments, and instrument-assisted adjustments, among others. Our approach is tailored to the individual needs of each patient, and we work closely with our patients to develop a treatment plan that is both effective and efficient.
