Meet The Doctor
Dr. Elizabeth Ardo is the founder of Bloomsburg Family Chiropractic, PLLC. She was born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, where she first learned the benefits of chiropractic care. Dr. Ardo has been a patient of chiropractic care since high school and saw the impact it had on her and her family members. This inspired her to become a chiropractor. Dr. Ardo attended The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor certification in Nutritional Sciences. She then attended New York Chiropractic College, where she earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and certification in Human Performance and Function in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Ardo practiced in Kingston, PA for three years before moving her practice to Bloomsburg, PA in 2016. Dr. Ardo is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Parts I-IV as well as Physiotherapy. She is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association.
What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a conservative healthcare method to diagnose and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Chiropractors use a hands-on approach to increase joint mobility, decrease muscle tension, and reduce pain. Chiropractic manipulation or "adjustments" help to increase mobility of a spinal segment or extremity joint that is restricted in its motion or hypomobile. These adjustments are performed by applying a controlled force manually to the restricted joint in a quick motion. It is safe for all ages and very effective. In addition to in-office treatments, chiropractors may recommend nutritional supplements to patients or lifestyle changes that will prevent musculoskeletal disorders in the future.
What to Expect
On your first visit to Bloomsburg Family Chiropractic, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Upon arrival, you will be asked to fill out some intake paperwork, detailing your current condition as well as past medical history. There are also office policy forms that you will need to review and sign as acknowledgment before receiving treatment. Dr. Ardo will review your medical history as well as your current complaint. She will also discuss your goals for treatment and your expectations of chiropractic care. Then, a thorough examination will be performed to diagnose your condition. This will include ranges of motion of any affected joints, palpation of the joints and muscles, orthopedic testing, neurological testing, and any other physical examination procedures applicable to your individual needs. Dr. Ardo will review the results of her examination with you, and discuss a potential treatment plan. This may also include lifestyle changes that can be made to further address the cause of the issue at hand.

- Chiropractic manipulation: mobilizing the spine and joints of the extremities to restore normal range of motion. Techniques include Diversified, Activator, Thompson/Drop table, and Flexion-Distraction
- Webster Technique: an adjusting technique that is used for the pelvis, particularly during pregnancy. Adjustments during pregnancy help to optimize the function of the pelvis, allowing you to be more comfortable throughout gestation and birth
