Our Philosophy

Chiropractic is a science, art, and philosophy that is based upon the interrelationship between the nervous system and the functioning body as a whole. Historically, chiropractic began in 1895 when D.D. Palmer performed the first chiropractic adjustment on Harvey Lillard, restoring his hearing. Hence, the beginning of the most popular alternative medicine profession. There are over 50,000 licensed chiropractic physicians in the world with over 20 chiropractic colleges.

Our Services

Your chiropractor detects, corrects, and prevents spinal or vertebral subluxations. This is done by using chiropractic adjustments. These adjustments are applied in a specific direction with the specific amount of force to remove vertebral subluxations and normalize spinal and nervous system function. Your chiropractor has a Doctor of Chiropractic degree (D.C.). He receives this advanced degree after many years of highly specialized training. This training teaches your doctor to detect and locate misaligned spinal vertebrae (subluxations) impinging on the nerves that send messages of communication to the body.

Vertebral Subluxation

When spinal bones lose their normal position and motion, nervous system interference results. The cause can be from stress, trauma, or chemical imbalances. More specifically, it's referred to as the Vertebral Subluxation Complex and is made up of five components: Spinal Kinesiopathology, Neuropathophysiology, Myopathology, Histopathology, and Pathophysiology. The Vertebral Subluxation Complex is the hidden cause to many health problems. Your Doctor of Chiropractic will look to treat the cause of your problem, not your symptoms.

Adjustments and Treatment Plans

A chiropractic adjustment is a specific force applied in a specific direction to normalize nervous system and spinal dysfunction. On your first visit, you will have a consultation with the doctor and a thorough examination will be performed including orthopedic and neurological testing. Sometimes special gait and postural analysis and on-site X-ray studies may be used to get an accurate working diagnosis. On your second visit, you will be given a detailed report of findings of your diagnosis. Explaining in understandable terms where exactly your subluxation is, how long it will take to correct it, and a detailed treatment plan. And lastly, a financial consultation as to how much you will contribute to correct your spinal condition.

How Often Should I Get Adjusted?

You should get adjusted whenever there is pressure or tension on your delicate nerve tissue. Sometimes there is no pain, so it's best to get checked periodically just as you would get your teeth checked at your dentist.

Is it Bad to "Crack" Your Back?

The want or need to "crack" or "pop" your neck or back is caused from vertebral subluxation. When one area of the spine is not moving (hypomobile), another area of the spine is compensating or "cracking, " moving too much (hypermobile). These are all effects of spinal or vertebral subluxation. The area not moving (hypomobile) should be adjusted, and the spine should balance out.
