Our Team

Our team is led by Dr. Lauren Gomes, a licensed chiropractor who graduated valedictorian from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2013. Prior to attending chiropractic school, Dr. Gomes graduated from Michigan State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She is a native of Sterling Heights, MI and knew that opening her own practice in her hometown would be the perfect opportunity to provide care to her community. Dr. Gomes is married to her husband, Mauricio, and they have a daughter, Presley. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, scrapbooking, and the outdoors.

• Hands-On Adjustments: This approach to treatment is the most well-known chiropractic approach. Dr. Gomes uses various techniques, including Palmer Diversified, Thompson, Flexion and Distraction, and Gonstead techniques.
• Massage Therapy: Our licensed massage therapist provides a massage tailored to each patient's specific needs. Options include deep tissue, relaxation, trigger point therapy, prenatal treatment, range of motion therapy, and more.
• Traction Therapy: Intersegmental traction is an additional service that helps loosen up joints and relieve tension and pressure in the back, hips, and spine.
• Soft Tissue Therapy: We offer various soft tissue treatment options, including the use of a Vibracussor tool to loosen trigger points and Graston technique for specific soft tissue therapy.
• Rehabilitation: An essential part of your treatment involves rehabilitation during the healing phase and wellness phase of care. Dr. Gomes may provide in-office or at-home exercises to aid in your treatment plan.
• Gentle Tool Adjustments: If the traditional hands-on approach does not fit your needs, Dr. Gomes can use adjusting tools that provide specific adjustments without the cracking and popping often associated with hands-on adjustments.

What to Expect

At Modern Family Chiropractic, we pride ourselves on making sure we provide efficient and supportive chiropractic care to all our patients. Our goal is to get you scheduled with Dr. Gomes as soon as possible and at a time that minimizes wait times.

As a new patient, you can expect the following:

• Check-in with our receptionist who will guide you through the process of filling out paperwork and processing your insurance.
• Dr. Gomes will review your information and perform an in-depth and tailored examination.
• If additional imaging is necessary, you will be referred immediately for same-day X-rays prior to treatment.
• Dr. Gomes will review the exam findings and imaging results with you and recommend a tailored treatment plan, discuss payment options, and answer any questions or concerns.
