At Wilkinson Chiropractic Care, we are proud to be a third generation family-owned and operated practice serving the Sarasota community since 1975. Our story began with our founder, Dr. Ralph Wilkinson, who had a passion for treating each patient with integrity, devotion, and compassion. Our mission has always been to help our patients regain function and improve their overall quality of life.

Our Legacy

Dr. Wilkinson's journey in chiropractic care began in the late 1960s when he enrolled in Lincoln Chiropractic College. However, the college closed its doors, and he had to complete his studies at National Chiropractic College in Lombard, Illinois. He graduated in 1972 and went on to open his first practice in Shirley, Indiana. From there, he and his family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he practiced with a colleague. In 1974, he packed up his family and headed to Florida, where he began working as an intern at Doctors Hospital.

Our services include family and pediatric chiropractic care, prenatal care, massage therapy, school and sports exams, x-ray services, and nutrition recommendations. We believe in a conservative approach to expert traditional chiropractic care and focus on total body healing.

Our Doctors

Our team is led by Dr. Sherry Shamp and Dr. Joseph Shamp II, both of whom are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. Dr. Wilkinson, our founder, is still an integral part of our team, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience with our patients.
