At Chiropractic & Wellness Studio, we offer a unique blend of Chiropractic and Functional Medicine services. Our focus is on the restoration and maintenance of health through a combination of neurologically based chiropractic care and functional medicine principles. Our team, led by Dr. Naomi Johnson, is dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health.
Dr. Johnson studied cell and molecular biology at the University of Maine before attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. She has completed training in Functional Medicine through the Kalish Institute, with a focus on adrenal health and balancing female hormones. She has also attended numerous post-graduate seminars on nutrition, brain health, concussion recovery, and the effects of chronic inflammation on health. Additionally, she is a Certified Impairment Rater for the AMA Guides.
Our approach is centered around the understanding that your body has an amazing capacity to heal. We support this process by addressing imbalances in your nervous system, which can lead to symptoms like back pain, muscle tension, headaches, hormonal issues, and anxiety. We use computerized Stress Response Testing to measure your ability to handle stress and identify potential imbalances.
Inflammation is another key area we focus on. Excess inflammation can lead to chronic pain, immune system dysregulation, hormonal imbalances, mood disorders, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. By decreasing excess inflammation, we can improve health outcomes and alleviate pain.
Hormonal imbalances, particularly with cortisol and DHEA, are also a significant area of focus. These hormones affect every aspect of your physiology, and balancing them is key to increasing health and resilience. Commonly reported effects of our chiropractic care include improved sleep, less pain, improved digestion, more balanced moods, decreased anxiety, and an increased sense of well-being.
We offer an initial consultation and comprehensive examination focusing on your specific health concerns. This includes Stress Response Testing, a simple 15-minute test that measures the ability of your brain and nervous system to respond to stress, and a computerized posture exam to understand how postural distortions may be affecting your health.
